Ge Compressor Start Device
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WR07X10131

The Overload PTCR Combo is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. It is designed to protect the compressor from electrical overload, ensuring reliable performance and extending the life of the appliance. This part combines the functions of a positive temperature coefficient resistor (PTCR) and an overload relay.

Causes of a bad overload PTCR combo can include electrical surges, wear and tear over time, or internal component failure. A malfunctioning overload PTCR can lead to compressor issues and inefficient cooling.

Symptoms of a bad overload PTCR combo include:

  • The refrigerator not cooling properly
  • The compressor not starting or frequently cycling on and off
  • Unusual clicking noises from the compressor area
  • The refrigerator running continuously without cooling effectively

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Ge Compressor Start Relay
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WR07X10057

The Compressor Start Relay is an OEM replacement part for GE refrigerators. It plays an important role in allowing the refrigerator's compressor to power on. The start relay controls the initial energizing of the compressor until the control circuit signals it to remain powered.

Causes of a bad start relay can include failure over many power cycling events or damage to its internal electrical components. Without a properly functioning start relay, the compressor will not receive the signal needed to turn on.

Symptoms of a bad start relay include:

  • The refrigerator fails to cool and the compressor remains inactive
  • Abnormally long cool-down times after door openings
  • Fluctuating interior temperatures

This replacement relay is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

  • Provides the initial boost to start the compressor, then disengages once it's running
  • Protects the compressor circuit by opening if current draw or temperature is too high
  • Common symptoms of failure: refrigerator/freezer warm, compressor won't start, repeated clicking, brief humming then shutoff, intermittent cooling
  • Restores normal compressor starts when the original device has failed
What's included:
  • One TSD-2 compressor start device assembly
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before service; work in a dry area and follow manufacturer safety guidance
  • Access the compressor compartment and note wire positions/terminal layout before removal
