Personally I have experience working with electricity and knowing if I bought the part required this would be an easy fix. First went through the troubleshooting guide on the website and read the various stories and watched the repair videos for replacing the springs and suspension pads. Then before ordering any parts disassembled the machine only to the point of removing the cabinet to see if there were any obvious issues. The tray was simple, pick up the old one, pop in the new one. The gasket for my refrigerator was almost as easy. When I received the part I opened it up and let it lay flat for about 3 days (probably overkill). The old gasket popped right out and the new one went in really easy. I pulled the dryer away from the wall and unplugged it. Then I used a 5/16 nut driver and removed the 2 screws in the bottom front panel and pulled it off. Next I removed the 2 5/16 screws holding the front door panel and pulled it down far enough to disconnect the wires for the light and the wires on the door switch. • Noisy

Using appliancepartspros.com site took washer apart to diagnose bad clutch. The clutch was bad but once inside I noticed grease everywhere and after a quick online chat with rep. determined gear case was leaking and needed replacement. Replaced clutch & gear case. Followed video tutorial and took a little more than 30 minutes start to finish for me - I have no experience. • Won't start

There are hex screws keeping the igniter in place. I think they were 5/16...so you have to have a socket wrench. The space is kind of tight, and it's all on the right side, so if you're left handed (like I am) it's going to be a challenge to get the hex screws out without dropping them. Dropping them isn't too bad if they don't fall into the hole the gas pipe is coming through. Unfortunately one of them fell in there, and there's no getting it out of there. I had an authorized Whirlpool service tech come to look at problem diagnosed problem as water inlet valve leaking ordered the part. After 11 days I was told part was on backorder from Whirlpool. I ordered the part from you and received the next day and I installed it in approximately 20 minutes. Read more

This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

• Too hot
• No heat or not enough heat

The heating element had a break in the heater coils, so I replaced it with a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. I also replaced the thermal fusible link and thermostat switch because they were so cheap it just made sense to go ahead and do it while I was in there. I also cleaned every nook & cranny in the dryer, then cleaned out the vent piping- which was about 100% clogged. I replaced the supply lines and mesh in-line filters. I made sure incoming water pressure was strong. I also cleared some debris from the internal drain filter down below. The F20 persisted. My plan was to start swapping out parts from the inlet on. I ordered the valve and got it in a day. Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open. I bought an ignitor at a local store as there was a national holiday the next day and I did not want the dryer inoperative waiting several days for shipping. ORDERED NEW SUMP AND DIVERTER MOTOR, THE SHAFT ON THE DIVERTER MOTOR FELT A LITTLE ROUGH SO I WENT AHEAD AND REPLACED IT, THE SUMP REPLACEMENT WENT FAIRLY EASY. HAD TO MAKE A TRIP TO THE HARDWARE STORE FOR A HOSE CLAMP. ONE HOSE ON THE SUMP HAS A CLAMP THAT IS NOT REUSEABLE. YOU SHOULD ALSO ORDER THIS CLAMP. IT IS NARROW AND A REGULAR HOSE CLAMP WILL NOT WORK. Read more
