I ordered new burner. New terminal block and new switch. Unplug appliance. Removed switch panel. Had 6 star screws and two Philips head screws. Removed switch and remember to keep all screws because you need to reuse them. Also suggest taking a picture of wiring so you remember were to plug them back in on switch. All in all. Very easy fix. Remove oven door by just opening it slightly and pulling up. (an easy way to clean it too). Then, with a phillips screw driver, remove two screws holding the damaged element in place. Slowly pull the element toward the front a couple inched to expose the wires. Disconnect the wires (no tools needed), remove the old element and replace it with the new. I broke two of the elements in my GE Profile cooktop because I failed miserably at removing the glass top. It pays to do your research, kiddies. All it takes is a Number 10 Torx bit to remove 12 screws holding the glass to the body of the appliance, and it lifts straight up. I was replacing the glass because it broke during my home's construction.
