Opened up door panel, unplugged ribbon cable from old keypad and plugged in new keypad without installing just to verify keypad was the problem. Start button on new keypad worked so I then removed old keypad which is basically just like peeling off a sticker. Next step was to remove leftover adhesive using solvent. Ordered the control panel because the switch membrane is part of it. removed two screws on each side of the panel and the four underneath. pulled the panel down and out to remove. removed the ribbon connection from the erc by sliding the tabs to the right and then removed the four screws that attached the erc to the panel. installed panel by reversing the processs. Repair was relatively easy. You'll need a 5/16 socket with a short extension and a phillips-head screwdriver. Probably also an old rag and a bucket of hot soapy water. I started by sliding the stove out from the wall. Unplug the stove as soon as possible. No sense messing with 240 volts AC. Front console touch pad that houses control buttons and display for your range hood. Replace if cracked, broken, non-responsive, or display is damaged.
The only way to repair this problem is to replace the small control panel. Requires 10, 15 and 20 torx head drivers to remove the various screws that secure the hood stack cover, the plates securing the glass hood cover and then the master exhaust fan controls. Make sure the breaker to the hood is off before proceeding. Total time was about an hour but that included cleaning up all of the stainless steel and glass before putting it all back. Read more
