Prevents water leaks around the transmission shaft in your washer. Replace if you notice water on the floor or oil seepage. Confirm fit with your model.
In reality, this turned into a full-on rebuild project - with several parts orders, not just a simple repair. But I have to give credit: The parts listings with pictures on the AppliancePartsPros web site were really useful in figuring out what was going on inside the machine, and what parts I would need. Also: The repair videos were critical for me to be able to ensure I was reassembling everything correctly. Shout out to Simon, who was featured in several of the repair videos. His "gorgeous... Seals the rear tub to prevent water leaks during wash and spin cycles. Replace if you notice leaking or bearing noise. Confirm fit with your model.
LG Washing Machine WM3885HCCA I searched the Appliance Parts Pros "Get Repair Help" tab, typed in the LG washing machine model number (WM3885HCCA), watched videos and searched for the parts shown on the diagrams of my LG washing machine. After finding parts, I confirmed on both the Appliance Parts Pros site and LG site that the parts I selected were correct. I highly recommend using the LG site . I was able to type in the original part number from the Appliance Parts Pro site and LG directed... Read more
Prevents water leaks between washer tub and drum. Replace if you notice leaking, grinding noise, or water damage. Confirm fit with your model number.
Noticed large banging in the washing machine when transitioning from low to high speed spin. Also would get a slight smell of burnt rubber. Did an online search and best guess was the spider arm assy was broken. Ordered the spider arm assy, the rear tub seal and the tub seal. Make sure you get blue threadlocker - you'll use it multiple times during the reassembly. The washer is 9 years old and is heavily used. Used the online video on the appliancepartspros.com site to handle the repair. The... Read more
The Shaft Seal is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This seal is designed to fit around the shaft that connects the tub to the transmission or motor, preventing water from leaking out of the tub and into the machine's internal components. Causes of damage to the Shaft Seal often involve normal wear and tear from regular use, as the constant motion of the shaft can gradually degrade the seal. Symptoms of a bad Shaft Seal include:
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Seals the washer door to prevent leaks during wash cycles. Replace when torn, moldy, or cracked to restore water-tight operation. Confirm fit by model.
Initially did a uTube search for specific instructions on dismantling this machine for this repair. I had successfully replaced a door/tub gasket on a Whirlpool front load machine previously. Did not find specific uTube instructions for this Kenmore. So began removing parts using past learned info on what needed to be removed first, second, and last. Removed the top, detergent dispenser screws/control panel, then the front (with a couple hidden screws around drain pump filter) and the front... Read more
Seals the agitator cap to prevent water leaks into the agitator assembly. Replace if you notice leaking during wash cycles. Verify fit with your model.
I had previously replaced the pump about 1 year ago. That was not the problem. Still leaked the same way - intermittently, but always in the center of the washer onto the floor. None of the hoses were leaking - no evidence of corrosion or water mineral residue at any of the hose fittings. So, it must have been something else. I studied the parts diagram for the washer tub assembly and concluded the source of the leak almost had to be the outer tub's Centerpost Gasket. It was really the... Read more
Creates a watertight seal between the washer door and tub to prevent leaks. Replace if you notice water leaking, tears, or mold buildup. Confirm fit by model.
Replaced pump. All components are accessible from the front of the machine. You have to remove two screws in the back that hold on the top cover, then slide the cover back. This will allow access to the screws that hold on the control panel. Remove the control panel (unplug cable), then remove the spring/wire that holds on the door bellows to the front panel (removing and installing that is the most difficult part of the job) and carefully remove the bellows from the front panel. Then remove... Read more
Flexible gasket sealing washer door to drum, preventing leaks during cycles. Replace when torn, leaking, or showing mold buildup. Confirm fit.
Fixed by replacing the washer door seal "Bellows". Once again AppliancePartsPros comes through with the right part at a great price. It took quite some time to install because putting the inside spring back on the bellow was difficult so I needed to remove the top and front door of the washer to get better access. A set of 3 or 4 plumbing clamps are highly recommended to get that spring back on (I went to the store and bought some). If you search YouTube about replacing the bellows on your... Read more
Filters debris from water entering your washer and seals the hose connection. Replace if water fills slowly or screens are clogged. Confirm fit by model.
As a Mechanic, I did the common sense approach: INITIAL OBSERVATIONS & CHECKS: - Unplug Machine & check inlet water hose connections for leaks and signs of hose failure; - Remove back panel & inspect for water presence at all hose connections, pump, bottom of basket (bottom center of basket where the main motor, shaft bearing, and tub seal is located), dispensers, bottom of wash basket, water injector area, look everywhere where there is a hose connection and where water flows... - Inspect... Prevents water leaks around the washer door during cycles. Replace if torn, stretched, or causing musty odors. Verify fit with your model number.
Ordered and replaced bellow. It is important to supply the correct model number as my machine is a later model than the one used in the training video. The front panel is one piece, rather than two. Additionally, several of the fasteners were hex head screws, rather than torks. The Bellow is somewhat different having an opening for the light fixture. That said, the video was adequate to get the general idea of how to remove and replace the bellow. I found it very difficult to replace... Read more
Washer tub seal prevents water leaks between outer tub and inner basket. Replace if you notice leaking from below. Confirm fit with your model number.
This repair was performed on a Whirlpool Cabrio clothes washer Model # WTW5640XW0 which has the digital electronic controls rather than the older style timer, electro/mechanical controls. This washer was made in 2010. Simply having the diagnostic programs on this machine is wonderful and they work remarkably well and led me to the shifter/rpm sensor component straight away. It was a simple replacement by tipping the washer onto its front and accessing through the bottom. The machine was put... Read more
Prevents water from leaking into the transmission on direct-drive washers. Replace if you see water pooling under the machine or oil rings inside the cabinet.
First, DO NOT call Sears for parts, their call center knows nothing about the product. App-Pros are the best for help and the right parts. I figured to repair, replace all seals and any item that shows need to and all items that have to do with the spin that may be bad. Repair videos great help. I will start from the "bottom" up, the repairs were not done in this order, just a list of what I did and notes. Replaced-- motor drive coupling, (checked out transmission ok), thrust washer,... Seals washer door to prevent water leaks during wash cycles. Replace if torn, cracked, or moldy. Confirm fit with your model number before ordering.
The instructions that came with the parts did not match the project I was doing, so those were not helpful. I looked up videos on YouTube and those all made it look way easier than it actually was. From what I could tell at that point, I wouldn't need to dismantle anything. I would simply be able to remove the gasket and put the new one in its place. I followed YouTube instructions and got the old one off, and got the back of the new one on. Trying to get the spring ring around it was an... Read more
Flexible rubber seal between washer door and drum that prevents water leaks during wash cycles. Replace if torn, moldy, or leaking. Confirm fit with model.
Removed washer lid, then upper front panel with controls. Popped off the front retaining ring, then pushed the boot into the washer area after detaching the detergent hose and LED light from the boot. Detached the door lock mechanism. Removed the front panel with the door. Then removed main retaining ring after loosening with Phillips head screwdriver. Removed the old boot. I found a bunch of nasty stuff in the cavity between the main drum and rotating drum which was blocking the boot from... Read more
Replace your washer door boot seal to stop leaks and prevent mold buildup. Creates watertight barrier between door and drum. Confirm fit with your model.
Ordered boot, nozzle, and inner spring for boot. Would have ordered outer, but the schematic for parts made it very difficult to navigate to locate parts...24 hr/next day air and I have a happy wife. The only thing that would have made it easier, was having a pair of Spring Expansion pliers, be careful not to pinch inner boot! Used Youtube video as a walk through, completed in the fraction of the time if i hadnt watched! Read more
