Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher was leaking from underneath the front door   Don G. • Crystal Lake , IL • June 04, 2014

The grommet was old and very caked with old dishwasher scum. So water was leaking through where the soap door latch goes into the door. I replaced the rubber grommet (and the plastic latch that came with the kit, even though the old one was probably fine). Fit perfectly and looked just like the old one. Works like a champ, no leaking! Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Soap dispenser flap didn't open   Bill R. • Austin , TX • April 06, 2014

Removing the door panel was easy -- remove 6 Torx screws, and the panel falls off. Next you need to remove an electrical plug and 2 individual wires from the old dispenser. The plug came right off, but the wires were not easy to access, and they fought me more than I expected. With some pliers and wiggling, they eventually let go and came free. The dispenser is held in place with 6 Phillips screws through 2 removable metal brackets, and those came out easily. The toughest part of the job... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The soap dispenser lid wouldn't stay closed in our whirlpool dishwasher   Jack A. • Austin , TX • July 16, 2014

I bought a new one and installed it. I had to buy a set of small Torx drivers to remove screws holding front panel. Wish I'd known to have very small hex wrench to remove 6 screws holding soap dispenser. It was also quite a juggling act to hold the front panel on the dishwasher door steady and put the screws back in. However, the new dispenser works perfectly! Read more

Wax motor for detergent/rinse-aid dispenser.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Soap dispenser door wouldn't open   David H. • San Francisco , CA • May 15, 2015

Took door off, saw that dispenser linkage was ok, I could open and close by hand, so figured the wax motor or the wiring to it were most likely the problem. I took off the wax motor ( actuator) and ran 120 volts to it via jumper wires, and it did not move at all, so figured good chance that was the problem. Found part # on your site, received new one quickly from you, put it in and works great. Thanks. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The hinge on the soap dispenser on the dishwasher broke off   John E. • College Corner , OH • April 23, 2014

I wrote down the model and serial # of the unit. I went on line to Appliance Parts Pros, and entered the data. Up popped a schematic with the part clearly numbered.
