I changed the control board (00498022) in the door of my Thermador dishwasher. Thermador, Bosch, and Siemens all use the same board for the indoor controls and display. This required a #15-star head driver to remove the screws. I used an impact wrench (set to a low torq setting) to speed things up. There are approximately 12 screws to remove. Two are long. It was one of 3 things basically, motherboard, pressure sensor or fill valve. I tried cleaning the pressure sensor to no avail. I proceeded to replace both the valve and the sensor because the parts were very inexpensive and the cost of a motherboard wasn't worth it. Using instructions I obtained over the internet, I first removed the DW's bottom cover panels so I could look inside the DW (with a flashlight) while it was running. I had to put their dishwasher through several wash cycles before I could pinpoint the location of the leak. (The water appeared to be coming from above on the left side of the DW, near the top, rear of the DW's blue "Pressure Chamber." • Door won't close

I found the door switch was not making contact when the door closed. I adjusted it, but then it would not open so the dishwasher would run when the door wasn't closed. The contacts were too long in the switch so they would bend and stay together when the door opened. The original switch was very poorly made for a very expensive Maytag dishwasher. Tried CLR to remove hard water deposits. That did not help. Ordered new dispenser. The GE series that the detergent module fits in was a little difficult to open. Finally found a video explaining the whole door had to come off in order to open it up to replace the module. Works great now. Read more

My wife said we have a problem with our dishwasher (Whirlpool WDT920SADE2). Purchased a new rack and would have skipped reporting on it except that the new rack is superior to the old one. Easy to load, better silverware basket. It is so much better I bought a one for my mother (same dishwasher - lucky her!) before she even had a problem with the original. Read more

The full story: Dishwasher stopped running mid-cycle. When I first began troubleshooting I tried manually advancing the timer knob, and the machine would run. That led me to believe that the actual timer assembly was bad, so I replaced it. The dishwasher ran fine for a day, and then the same problem came back. • Will not dispense detergent

Process was a bit more complicated than the videos I had watched online. Had to remove both front panel and control panel to get to soap dispenser. Removed wires to soap dispenser and rinse aide dispenser. Removed wire "harness" around the top and right side of dispenser. Pried back the clips to allow dispenser to be pushed out. It was helpful to have another person to hold the door open at this point. Bent clips back and reinstalled everything. New part works great. Read more
