Dishwasher Pump

Removed the 4 Torx (T-20) screws to remove the bottom tray, loosened the 2 steel adjustable hose clamps and disconnected the hoses from the old pump. Removed the 2 Torx screws from the drain pump mounting bracket and the 2 that mount the pump to the bracket. Discarded the old pump, reversed the above process for installating the new pump and the dishwasher is functioning normally again. All in well under 30 mins. Read more

The PC board was bigger than the original so had to modify the mounts, the pump and rotor are pretty straight forward but would have much easier with another pair of hands. It took about 2 hours start to finish. One and a half days to get the parts, fantastic service. A new dishwasher is $1300.00. the parts were $314.00, so more than worth fixing. Read more

At first, I felt there was a problem with the drain hose. Possibly water would not completely drain out due to a poor routing of the drain hose. It seemed fine - I ensured that I had a 32-ince rise and then a good down hill route to the drain. My drain hose does not drain into the garbage disposal. I called AppliancePartsPros, talked to a technician to validate problem, ordered part. I had a great talk with the technician. Told him I have electrical engineering experience, used to fix pinball machines and that the pinballs and home appliances were the same design, i.e. inductor in series with a switch across the hot lines. The dishwasher would fill with water, and then was silent (during the time you'd expect to hear it washing. Cancel/draining worked fine too. I assumed it was the pump/motor that had failed. I ordered new racks, volute and check ball, and new spray arms. Replacing the volute and check ball were the hardest things to do and they were fairly easy to change. The toughest part for me was finding my T15 torxdriver. After replacing these parts the washer operates much better with much higher pressure than what we were experiencing recently. Read more

Replaced this simple part. Its almost like whirlpool knows this motor will fail so they made it easy to replace. 2 screws and it just twists off. This one everyone can fix. Savings $250 if i called repair. $550 if I had to replace! Read more
