Dishwasher Touch Pad

Initially thinking the thermal fuse was bad, I replaced it without doing my homework. It was actually the control panel. Ordered Wednesday night, in my hands Friday afternoon. I searched online for problems with that model. I found the appliance parts pros web site. It was the control board or the control panel. I ordered the control board. In 2 days it arrived and I put it in. That did not fix the problem. I then ordered the control panel. Again in 2 days it arrived and I installed it. That fixed it. I went online and printed out a return authorization for the control panel. I think the very liberal return policy of appliancepartspros is great! Read more

I turned off power and unplugged the touch panel ribbon cable. After restoring power and closing the dishwasher, it started running a drain cycle--this suggested the issue was the touch panel. Replacing the panel was pretty simple. Remove 6 screws (need a torx) bit, unplug the ribbon cable, take off the control board and the handle, and then reattach the new touch panel. Used the model number on the side of the wash door to do an internet search for a "control panel". Got an immediate hit of the Appliance Parts Pros site. When I selected two required parts the web site confirmed that the parts I selected were correct tor the model number. This was very helpful as the same parts now seem to be used in several different manufacturers brands. Parts arrived quickly as promised and the replacement took about an hour. Read more

We removed six screws, unplugged two sets of wires. With the new control panel we plugged in the two wires, put the cover back on and screwed the six screws back in. Simple, just an extra hand to hold in place is all you need. Read more

Replaced the faceplate/circuit board with a new one. This is the second time I’ve had to do it to this dishwasher in 11 years. It’s always the faceplate stops working. Just requires a T15 TORX bit and a few minutes. Read more

Relaced control panel and Main control board. I recommend also installing a surge protector. I suspect the unit was damaged by a surge or brownout. Read more

Our dishwasher quit working again for the 3rd time recently. We researched on You Tube for similar issue, and possible fixes. We had power to the overlay so we ruled out a thermal fuse as most possible problem. Some mode lights would come on when pushed. Tried a self diagnosis test-nothing. Reset circuit breaker-nothing. The control panel (upper panel on door with all the buttons) was working only periodically. I got the dishwasher model number and looked up the part that I needed using that number. Had a couple of questions so I called Appliance Parts Pro. The person who responded was extremely helpful and patient with my questions. I ordered a new Panel-Control. The old one was removed easily by taking out six screws. The old panel lifted, then tilted out. The electronic circuit board was disconnected and attached to the new panel. My new panel did not want to fit in properly at first. The bottom of the panel contained two alignment tabs that the old panel did not have. The stainless steel front panel needed to be cut on top under these tabs for the control panel to properly seat.
