Dishwasher Touch Pad

I searched online for problems with that model. I found the appliance parts pros web site. It was the control board or the control panel. I ordered the control board. In 2 days it arrived and I put it in. That did not fix the problem. I then ordered the control panel. Again in 2 days it arrived and I installed it. That fixed it. I turned off power and unplugged the touch panel ribbon cable. After restoring power and closing the dishwasher, it started running a drain cycle--this suggested the issue was the touch panel. Replacing the panel was pretty simple. Remove 6 screws (need a torx) bit, unplug the ribbon cable, take off the control board and the handle, and then reattach the new touch panel. Used the model number on the side of the wash door to do an internet search for a "control panel". Got an immediate hit of the Appliance Parts Pros site. When I selected two required parts the web site confirmed that the parts I selected were correct tor the model number. This was very helpful as the same parts now seem to be used in several different manufacturers brands. Parts arrived quickly as promised and the replacement took about an hour. Read more

Bought the control board/touchpad piece. It is a kitchen aide/whirlpool part. Searched around on the internet and found some videos on how to replace it. It was plug and place once I got it in there. Very happy that I could do it myself. Note: I removed the original piece first and got the part number on it so I made sure that I was getting the correct part (a little confusing because several companies use that touchpad). Replaced the faceplate/circuit board with a new one. This is the second time I’ve had to do it to this dishwasher in 11 years. It’s always the faceplate stops working. Just requires a T15 TORX bit and a few minutes. Read more

Our dishwasher quit working again for the 3rd time recently. We researched on You Tube for similar issue, and possible fixes. We had power to the overlay so we ruled out a thermal fuse as most possible problem. Some mode lights would come on when pushed. Tried a self diagnosis test-nothing. Reset circuit breaker-nothing. I ordered a new Panel-Control. The old one was removed easily by taking out six screws. The old panel lifted, then tilted out. The electronic circuit board was disconnected and attached to the new panel. My new panel did not want to fit in properly at first. The bottom of the panel contained two alignment tabs that the old panel did not have. The stainless steel front panel needed to be cut on top under these tabs for the control panel to properly seat.
