Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Kenmore dishwasher recurring front control panel problems   Brad G. • Pearland , TX • April 21, 2015

I replaced the panel, for the third time in about 7 years. its a bit sad that A) kenmore/whirlpool cannot make a control panel that can last longer than 5 years of normal household use, and B) that the panel costs $135 . so that means that the $800 kenmore sits at $1070 in price, due to the two repairs that i have made over the last seven years. this control panel is about 10 or 12 switches, with a 15 pin ribbon cable that connects to the control module. i would rate this as about a $50... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Touch pad on dishwasher door was no longer functioning, led indicators gave erratic indicators, washing cycles did not run   Ralph P. • Hellertown , PA • June 18, 2021

Used the model number on the side of the wash door to do an internet search for a "control panel". Got an immediate hit of the Appliance Parts Pros site. When I selected two required parts the web site confirmed that the parts I selected were correct tor the model number. This was very helpful as the same parts now seem to be used in several different manufacturers brands. Parts arrived quickly as promised and the replacement took about an hour. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My dishwasher would not run on the led control panel lights only two out of all the lights/buttons would work   James C. • Meadville , PA • August 04, 2014

I searched online for problems with that model. I found the appliance parts pros web site. It was the control board or the control panel. I ordered the control board. In 2 days it arrived and I put it in. That did not fix the problem. I then ordered the control panel. Again in 2 days it arrived and I installed it. That fixed it. I went online and printed out a return authorization for the control panel. I think the very liberal return policy of appliancepartspros is great! Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Flashing lights and an unresponsive touch panel   James D. • Stillwater , MN • March 05, 2016

I turned off power and unplugged the touch panel ribbon cable. After restoring power and closing the dishwasher, it started running a drain cycle--this suggested the issue was the touch panel. Replacing the panel was pretty simple. Remove 6 screws (need a torx) bit, unplug the ribbon cable, take off the control board and the handle, and then reattach the new touch panel. At first, some of the buttons on the new touch panel didn't seem to work, but after running one cycle, everything is fine and... Read more

Our dishwasher quit working again for the 3rd time recently. We researched on You Tube for similar issue, and possible fixes. We had power to the overlay so we ruled out a thermal fuse as most possible problem. Some mode lights would come on when pushed. Tried a self diagnosis test-nothing. Reset circuit breaker-nothing.
