• Not dispensing water

I watched the Appliance Parts Pros repair video and decided to remove the front panel to diagnose the problem. While the repair video is excellent, I could not remove the ice/water dispenser front panel with a putty knife. On my model, 106.56234400, there is no clip that can be released by sliding a putty knife up under the front panel. • Not cleaning dishes properly

Screwed off the broken piece, the threaded piece was still there, the arm had broken off, screwed in the new piece, Presto all fixed. What a cake, thanks Read more

Checked and cleaned vent which was in need of cleaning, but not too bad (I do not consider this a primary causal detail, but can be a problem, so clean yours). Replaced Hi-Limit Thermostat (safety thermostat) after confirming the circuit was open with ohm meter. While I was in there, I completely cleaned the heater and ducting and internal workings of the dryer. • Noisy

The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts. My DIY project included replacing the motor, blower, drum bearing, belt, and door hinge. The end result is a functional dryer with no left-over parts. • Little to no heat when broiling
• Element will not heat

Once I received the element within three days, I simply removed the other element by unclipping and unplugging lugs in rear. Placed the new one in clips and connected lugs and all was good! Read more

• Door won't close

I found the door switch was not making contact when the door closed. I adjusted it, but then it would not open so the dishwasher would run when the door wasn't closed. The contacts were too long in the switch so they would bend and stay together when the door opened. The original switch was very poorly made for a very expensive Maytag dishwasher. The full story: Dishwasher stopped running mid-cycle. When I first began troubleshooting I tried manually advancing the timer knob, and the machine would run. That led me to believe that the actual timer assembly was bad, so I replaced it. The dishwasher ran fine for a day, and then the same problem came back. Ordered a new screen and filter. While waiting for arrival, removed wax covered dishes. Carefully removed wax filled filter and screen cover. Stuffed paper towels in hole to absorb water and prevent wax from entering pump. Prayed ????wax had not entered pump. With plastic knife removed visible wax. Wiped out with paper towels. Our Kenmore (Whirlpool) refrigerator's ice maker had stopped making ice.
