Fix a washer that won't spin clothes dry or makes loud grinding noises. This rotor works with the stator to spin the drum. 2-hour DIY repair.
Took the back cover off, noticed the bolt holding the rotor on was broke off in the shaft which wore the stator and rotor. So I drilled out the broken bolt and extracted it with an easy out and replaced the stator the rotor and the bolt. Works great ! I maybe had 2 hours time in it and that includes taking it out of the laundry room and into the garage to work on it and back. Read more

Washer won't spin or agitate? This motor and inverter assembly restores proper basket rotation. Moderately difficult repair, takes 30-60 minutes.
Removed front panel using putty knife inserted between top lid and front panel. Plugged in and selected Drain and Spin option on front panel. Drain pump started but drive motor did not turn. Followed the steps I found at http://www.appliance-repair-it.com/GE-washer-repair.html. Following their instructions, I confirmed that the the large pulley was not jammed and the mother was not... Read more
Washer won't spin or agitate? This motor and inverter assembly controls basket rotation and spin speed. Moderate DIY repair, 1-2 hours with tech sheet.
It's always a tough decision on how much time and money to spend on an older $500 appliance. Besides fixing things being in my nature, Appliance Parts policy of allowing returns for any reason made the decision a lot easier. My 2+hour project time was due to lots of research and analyses trying to pin-point the exact cause. It still came down to a toss up between the control card and the motor. The control card did not fix, the motor did. Part replacement was in the 15 - 30 minute range. A... Read more

Fix a washer that won't spin or hums but doesn't start. This single-speed motor replacement restores spin cycles when the motor windings fail.
First I cleaned out the pressure switch line that allows the motor to kick into gear when the water level is low enough to start the spin cycle. Second, I determined the motor was worn out and could not spin the drum so I order a new motor from Appliance Parts. They had the part in stock and it was shipped out promptly. Third, opened the front of the washing machine to access the motor, removed 4 huts from the under carriage, unplugged the electrical connection to the motor, removed and... Read more
This motor assembly kit replaces the dryer's drive motor so the drum turns smoothly and reliably. Restores normal tumbling and helps stop motor noise or a drum that won't rotate. What it does:
Initially contacted an appliance repair man from a national, reputable company recommended by GE. He diagnosed a water pump problem over the phone. When he arrived to inspect the washer he then made the determination it wasn't the water pump. He attempted to run a spin cycle and received the same messge, load out of balance. He then, I assume through his years of experience, determined that it was a computer problem and recommended replacing the Pwb/pcb Asm-Main. He made this... Read more
