Figured out how to diagnose it and found the error codes, all online! learned how disconnect everthing and laid the washer down on its back, saw the 2 malfunctioning pieces, The Drive motor and the shift actuator, removed them and looked up model numbers, found the parts I need here on appliance parts pros and was able to order them and have them delivered in 2 days. I checked three separate components, based on similar experiences of other friends. The water pump was ok and the stator look ok (no electrical burns, wiring was fine, etc.). After viewing a You Tube video of a washing machine making a similar noise as mine (metallic grinding sound when spinning), the video suggested the problem was a bad sensor. Checked all the connection including thermal fuse and Lid switch, everything was OK. Only the motor LED light was flushing 6 times!! Secondly the agitator upper part was bad too!!
