I checked three separate components, based on similar experiences of other friends. The water pump was ok and the stator look ok (no electrical burns, wiring was fine, etc.). After viewing a You Tube video of a washing machine making a similar noise as mine (metallic grinding sound when spinning), the video suggested the problem was a bad sensor. My son in law easily replaced the stator and the machine worked. I washed a couple of loads and it shock more than before. The next day I washed a load and it shook so much it took two of us to keep the machine from traveling across the room. So back to the drawing board. Read more
