I did not know how to remove the broken spray arm so when I muscled it out, the spray arm base broke. We ordered the replacement parts from appliance parts pros and received them within 2 days. I looked online to find out how to remove the spray arm base. I removed it be unscrewing the base, screwing the replacement base, and then snapping in the new spray arm. We tested the dishwasher and it worked just like it was new. Another new task learned and completed!! Read more

Dishwasher made a humming sound but no water was circulating around. Searching around, I decided that it was either the inlet valve or the pump/impeller. I started with the inlet valve since it’s an easier repair. It didn’t work, no problem, now I have a spare. I then changed the pump and motor assembly. I didn't use any tools. I pulled the lower rack out of dishwasher, studied the clip opposite side of tines (still working), and based upon observation, installed replacement part. Without the new clip the tines wouldn't stay secure to hold dishes in place. My only issue is the online schematic illustration. The homeowner kept getting AE flood code on a 2 yr old LG dishwasher. Changed the gasket at the bottom of the door. ordered the $25 part AP 6236867 and the door seal AP6981193 ($22) for a complete job. Dishwasher needed to be disconnected from power and water supplies, removed from the cabinet and placed on it's back to gain free access to the underside of the unit. The motor-pump unit removed ( just three screws and two wire connections ). Once the motor unit is removed, the filter-pump part 'rests' on the end of this unit and just lifts off. Once I located the parts involved in the factory exploded drawing I ordered a cable and spring. Then, when I had the dishwasher pulled out I saw that both cables had simply slipped off of their pulleys and that the door needed to be re-set properly into its drop-down metal studs.
