Fix leaks around the dishwasher motor or poor spray pressure with this impeller and seal kit. DIY-friendly repair takes about 2 hours with basic tools.
My dishwasher quit cleaning dishes and lost all pressure. The food screen would keep clogging up and I would have to take it out and clean it by hand. After putting a new impeller in, the "gears" on the impeller connected with the screen blades, the old impeller the "gears" were stripped off. And the new impeller comes with new seals, after taking old one out I noticed it wasn't long before my old seals would have started leaking. Very simple repair if you watch the great video that... Filters food particles and debris from the circulation pump. Replace if damaged, shredded, or causing grinding noises to prevent pump damage and leaks.
Dishwasher needed to be disconnected from power and water supplies, removed from the cabinet and placed on it's back to gain free access to the underside of the unit. The motor-pump unit removed ( just three screws and two wire connections ). Once the motor unit is removed, the filter-pump part 'rests' on the end of this unit and just lifts off. The new part is put in place and the motor is re-attached, minding to make the metal support arm goes back inside the rubberized carrying slot and... Read more
The door cable and pulley assembly controls the smooth opening and closing motion of your dishwasher door by managing its descent and preventing it from dropping too quickly. Located inside the door hinges, this assembly requires replacement when the door slams shut, won't stay open at various angles, or makes grinding noises during operation.
My first thought was to take the dishwasher to the dump when I saw the pack rats ate the wiring while it was in storage. However, it was only a couple years old so just out of curiosity I looked at the appliance parts pros website and was pleasantly surprised that I could replace every wiring harness on my GE dishwasher for under $100. That is a lot of wire. The process to replace the wiring was nearly effortless. The new harnesses were identical to the old so all I had to do was find the 2... Read more

Dishwasher not filling with water or leaking during cycles? The water inlet valve controls water flow. DIY-friendly repair, typically 10-30 minutes.
I took the inlet valve apart, found it was clogged with sediment, so I cleaned it and reinstalled it. Water was still not filing, so I figured the valve was sticking. I ordered a new valve, because $30 was a lot cheaper than a new dishwasher. I took out the old valve with two screws, and disconnected the supply line, the brass elbow, one hose, and a wiring harness. I reattached it in the same place, re-using the all the other parts, and once I turned the power and water back on, it worked as... Read more
Dishwasher detergent cup won't stay closed or won't open fully? This soap dispenser lever controls detergent release. DIY repair in 15 minutes.
First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. After turning off the power to the dishwasher, I removed the switch cover (not obvious how -- a video would help: on the left, I slid the narrow rectangular plastic wire cover a little to one side and gently opened it on its little hinge, which is near the left side of the door, and then... Had my kitchen renovated and my contractor lost the access panel for my Whirlpool dishwasher so I had to find a replacement. Found what I was looking for at AppliancePartsPros.com, chatted with a sales customer service rep to make sure it was the correct part. Ordered it, paid for standard shipping, which said 2-3 days, it arrived at my house the next day! The part was also a genuine Whirlpool replacement part, not a generic part that "should" fit, needless to say, it fit perfectly and... Read more
Fix loud grinding or buzzing noises during wash cycles with this dishwasher pump and motor assembly. Moderately difficult repair, takes 1-2 hours.
I hated to call a repair Guy, because by the time it takes them to do the service call and then order the part, then schedule another appointment. It would be at least two weeks. I figured I would just buy a new Dishwasher and have it delivered the next day. That was before I saw the price of a new dishwasher. I looked on line and found Appliance Parts Pros, saw the you tube video figured a trained monkey could do this change out on the motor assembly, so why can't I. I ordered the complete... Read more

Fix a dishwasher that won't heat water or dry dishes properly. This heating element restores hot water cycles and sanitization. Moderate DIY repair.
After reviewing the other repair stories related to this "7 blinking light" syndrome, I contacted their support staff via Chat. I relayed my symptoms along with model number of dishwasher. She indicated that this would normally mean an issue with either the heating element, the high limit thermostat, or the control board. Since the control board was so expensive and (luckily) out of stock, I ordered only the heating element and the thermostat. After pulling out the dishwasher and removing... Read more
