I started by removing and cleaning the sump filter and drain adapter at the bottom of the tub. The manual said nothing about these filters, but they were almost completely clogged after 5 years of use and no cleaning. After reassembling with the cleaned filters, the problem persisted. I did some more research and found others said the food chopper had disintegrated and caused the same issue with the top rack not getting cleaned. After inspecting screen and drain hose with no obvious cause, replaced drain pump. Removal of the pump was very straight forward. 3 screws, 2 electric connections, and 1 hose clamp was all that was needed. Read more

I hated to call a repair Guy, because by the time it takes them to do the service call and then order the part, then schedule another appointment. It would be at least two weeks. First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. • Will not fill with water

I took the inlet valve apart, found it was clogged with sediment, so I cleaned it and reinstalled it. Water was still not filing, so I figured the valve was sticking. I ordered a new valve,because $30 was a lot cheaper than a new dishwasher. I took out the old valve with two screws, and disconnected the supply line, the brass elbow, one hose, and a wiring harness. I did not know how to remove the broken spray arm so when I muscled it out, the spray arm base broke. We ordered the replacement parts from appliance parts pros and received them within 2 days. I looked online to find out how to remove the spray arm base. I removed it be unscrewing the base, screwing the replacement base, and then snapping in the new spray arm. We tested the dishwasher and it worked just like it was new. Another new task learned and completed!! Read more

Had my kitchen renovated and my contractor lost the access panel for my Whirlpool dishwasher so I had to find a replacement. Once I located the parts involved in the factory exploded drawing I ordered a cable and spring. Then, when I had the dishwasher pulled out I saw that both cables had simply slipped off of their pulleys and that the door needed to be re-set properly into its drop-down metal studs.
