A quick internet search told me that this was common among this machine, and that a redesigned lint filter/basket was available. Because there was an electrical sensor connector behind the assembly that needed to be detached/reattached, I did have to take the top off the dryer and unscrew the front face as well. This is a multi-ribbed drive belt that connects the motor to the wash drum, allowing the drum to spin and agitate during wash and spin cycles. Over time the belt can stretch, crack, or break from normal wear. Replaced spark module - oven was less than two years old. Like a lot of new gas ovens, turning on any one burner to 'lite' sends sparks to all 5 top burners. The difficulty was getting to the spark module, as some generic videos show access to it from the upper panel on the back of the oven, but it wasn't there. Also the screws for the igniter set were stuck from old grease or something and had to be drilled out. Overall the project was well worth my time for the cost vs replacement decision. Replacement overlay for range touch pad control panel. Installs over the control board buttons. Replace if cracked, peeling, worn, or labels are faded or illegible.
Turned off the power. Pulled out the stove. Removed back of upper part of stove. Removed old control board. Took photos with phone to make sure I got wires back on correctly. Evaporator coils frozen solid? Defrost thermostat senses coil temperature and triggers the heater to melt frost buildup. Straightforward replacement.
Checked compressor windings - ok. Start relay looked no rattle or burning. Start capacitor seamed ok but hard to check. No 120VC to start relay at any time. Ordered thermistor, and electronic control unit. Figuring it was a bad thermistor not telling the ECU it was warm and to turn on the compressor.
