This is a tub fill nozzle assembly that directs water from the inlet valve into the washer tub during the fill cycle. It connects between the water inlet and the wash tub to funnel water into the drum. Replace this part if you notice water leaking near the top of the tub, water spraying in the wrong direction, or if the nozzle is cracked or broken.

The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting.
