Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I had a leaky door gasket on my washer.   Gillis B. • Pasedena , CA • May 30, 2023

First I watched the very, very helpful video (twice), then I planned out the job in regards to tools, work area, and access. I have stacked units of washer/dryer due to space restrictions and had to ask my son-in-law to help me lift the dryer of the washer once I had prepared the process by fabricating 2 pieces of 3/4" plywood to turn the dryer and then slide it out far enough were 2 people can lift it and then set it on some cribbing for easy handling. Disconnected the power, turned off the... Read more

In analyzing my problem, I just couldn't believe the door stopper and hinge bushing were causing it. After digging around, there was just nothing else that could be causing my problem, so I ordered the parts and made the replacement. I was shocked at how this completely solved my problem. The fridge door now closes just like it did when it was brand new. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Slow leak from front of LG Tromm washing machine.   Peter M. • Norwood , MA • February 26, 2022

I had a slow leak from the very front of my LG washer, so I was pretty sure that it was just the gasket leaking, and not any of the hoses. It's not a complicated repair, with the usual confidence-inspiring video from Matt. There are three things to be aware of: 1) I originally ordered the wrong gasket. My model number is WM2277HW /01, which the APP website does not recognize. It only recognizes /00 or no suffix whatsoever. The correct part number for the /01 is 4986ER0004B. The easy way... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You EL   Sonja C. • Parachute , CO • September 17, 2021

My front loader LG washing machine wasn’t working correctly. The clothes were either coming out unwashed or completely dripping. When turning the washer on it would start up like normal and the turn off a few minutes in. Initially it was not displaying an error code, this made it very difficult to diagnose. One of the kids started a load not knowing we are having issues and it started making a clunking cringing noise, when I went to investigate the EL code was up. A few YouTube videos later... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The lower right hinge assembly on refrigerator needed to be replaced   Jeffrey M. • Casselberry , FL • June 17, 2015

The left hinge works on the right side as well as the left. All you have to do is unscrew the little plastic post and move it to the other hole. So even though the web might say that the left hinge assembly is not compatible with your fridge, or that the right hinge assembly is no longer available, it will still work. The door stopper assembly worked just fine. All you have to do is screw it in to the bottom of the door. You will have to disassemble the top hinge (on top of the fridge) in... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Refrigerator light was buring constantly generating excessive heat (2 60 watt bulbs) and melting plastic parts   Nancy V. • Newport Beach , CA • November 06, 2015

Was able to diagnose problem at AppliancePartsPros.com by entering the model #. This is apparently a common problem with this Refrigerator Replaced Light Socket Assembly, Lamp Reflector, Lamp Case and Lamp Cover. Also replaced the main circuit board (not sure if this was necessary). The wiring on the Light Socket Assembly was different than the original, so it was a bit confusing how to assemble it, and no screws were provided to attach it to the Lamp Reflector - figuring this out took most... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Getting ff error evaporator fan would run just a short time after resetting pwr   Jack T. • Athens , GA • December 21, 2014

Removed the freezer drawers, ice maker, and panel that the fan motor is attached to. Changed out the fan motor reinstalled everything and plugged it in, and presto. I had ordered the control board just in case but didn't need it. The fan motor wasn't the easier part to replace but it was the cheaper of the two. Because the old motor would run for just a short time I assumed that it wasn't sending a signal back to the control board telling it that it was running. I was right!! Read more
