I didn't end up fixing it. I guessed wrong that it was the Damper Shocks. They came quickly thought and install was a snap. The drum still knocks in spin cycle and that's a major disassembly repair I don't care to do. Read more

I believe the shock absorbers were bad and caused too much stress on the spring, breaking it. I replaced the spring, spring protector, and shock absorbers. I got lucky; when I got the drum back up where it belonged I saw that the door boot seal straightened itself back out and wasn’t damaged so I didn’t have to replace it. The whole job took about three hours and the washing machine runs more smoothly now than it did when it was new! Read more
