I wanted to only mess with the washer in a single 30-minute session. So, I assumed both solenoid valves were leaking and purchased replacements. Replaced solenoid valve. Repair summary: Turn off H/C water supply, disconnect hoses. Unscrew 3 screws rear of main panel. Slide front panel laterally then pull up to remove. Unscrew 2 screws on solenoid valve part. Disconnect spade electrical connectors and remove defective part. Insert new part and do everything I just said in reverse. This is my third repair of this type. The first was a stand-alone washer and was very easy, because there was a plate on which the inlet valve assembly was mounted, and it was easily removed. The Cold Water Inlet Valve had a very good You Tube Video and I followed it. One note of caution, as I chuckled at the guy on the video saying watch for sharp edges, he was correct. When removing one of the lines from the valve, my pliers slipped and my elbow hit the front of the machine(inside edge) and cut my elbow. 1. I unplugged the washer from outlet 2. I turned off the hot and cold water taps going to the washer (both just in case) 3. Draped a towel over back edge of washer and under where hoses coming from water outlets attach to back of washer (to catch any loose water out of the hose or screw nozzle leading to valve assembly, then unscrew (by hand) the cold water hose from back of washer (leave hot water hose alone as not needed). 4. The hot inlet valve was dripping water, replaced it. Water and soap were coming out of the vent pipe. The new Float assembly had a shorter shaft than the old Float Assembly I was replacing. I did install the new Float Assembly and cleaned the vent hose where the float seats and I haven't seen any more water on the floor. Both repairs were made easy by watching your repair videos. The GE front loading HE washer wound paused at the rinse fill point and need manual selection of drain & spin to finish the load. Online searches told me how to get the error code. Once E22 was found online searching told me it was a water flow problem- slow fill. I removed the hoses at the washer and inspected for clogs - nothing was found. Water became visible as it accumulated at the bottom rear part (the part that is tilted back) of the washer drum. I theorized that the valve controlling water flow into the machine was to blame. Remove the two valves at back of washer, only 4 screws, remove the electrical clamps, replace with valves, easy, 20 minutes to fix, and a woman did it, saved $320.00, yahoo Read more

Pulled dishwasher from the cabinet and flipped onto its side. Easy access to sump and drain flapper valve that I also replaced. Rubber sump coming apart into soft pills & chunks and plugging spray arms. Better now but it's rediculous that GE would make components that dissolve this way. Read more
