I had an appliance repair guy come and he told me it was possibly the vent assembly but if changing it didn't fix the problem it would be the control board next. He felt it was not worth the money to repair because he would have to disconnect everything just to get to the vent on the right rear top of the dishwasher. Ordered replacement drain hose, left hand panel of dishwasher removed (remove 2 screws in front left trim panel & friction fit clip at top back then slide up & off. This reveals the O-ring drain hose connection point. You need to remove the retainer block where the hose exits the appliance. Old hose pulls out and new hose pushes in. In the end a very easy installation. Most of the time spoent here is removal & reinstallation of dishwasher back into position - the actual hose swap takes 10 mins Read more

Upon taking the door apart it looked like the leak was coming from the vent so I replaced the vent cap, vent seal and the transition piece. I did not have to change the seals. It took me a while to figure out how to get the door apart, but once I did, it was fairly straightforward. Read more

Ordered new inlet water valve and float switch kit. After repairs it now works fine. However the water inlet valve outlet end for fill hose (not water source) and wire connections (supposedly for this unit) were oriented 180 degrees opposite. I had to gently remove the blue plastic valve off the metal support bracket and turn it around and press back in place. Fortunately it appears it was designed for either orientation. I went online to see the schematic on this particular Whirlpool dishwasher. After assessing the problem I was able to order the required parts easily online. They were delivered in three business days and I installed them in less than thirty minute. The new parts totally eliminated the hassle fighting with a sagging shelf. Very pleasant experience. I very seldom respond to requests for feedback like this but definitely feel moved to do so in this case. Found parts at GE website. Shopped around and liked prices/reviews for appliancepartspro and made the purchase. 4 days late the parts arrived and I swapped them out. Minor assembly for removing water sprayer from old top rack and attaching to the new rack. Took 10 minutes tops and we were back up and running. Read more
