Tried bending the strike to get a firmer grip, but no luck. Replaced the door latch and strike. Washer is about ten years old. You can feel the new catch has a more positive engagement. When you replace the strike, be sure not to tilt it downward in front. It will go in the way but it will keep the door from closing. Not sure I needed to replace the strike but didn't want to risk more downtime. Read more

Our 7 y/o dishwasher wouldn't close and therefore we couldn't get it to run. Remove old handle: (2) large Phillips-head screws where it attaches to top edge of refrigerator door, back out (1)set screw lower end off handle- needs very small hex wrench. Retain screws: none supplied with new handle. Place new handle in place (need to back out the set screw on bottom of handle to slide it fully into place before tightening). Install (2) screws on top end, and snug the lower setscrew. DONE. Read more

So, you would think that Bosch would make the door handle a TAD more accessible for a quick replacement and repair. You have to first remove the plastic lining on the back of the door, then the black metal surround that holds the inner glass to be able to get to the two screws that hold the door handle supports. At first my epoxy glue job worked for about three years, but finally gave out. The handle broke at the top where it screws to the door. The part to fix it was ordered from AppliancePartsPros.com and it arrived in a few days. It was intact and installed easily—good as new. The only issue with the part is the cost.
