Lg Gasket & Seal

I had a slow leak from the very front of my LG washer, so I was pretty sure that it was just the gasket leaking, and not any of the hoses. It's not a complicated repair, with the usual confidence-inspiring video from Matt. There are three things to be aware of: 1) I originally ordered the wrong gasket. First I watched the very, very helpful video (twice), then I planned out the job in regards to tools, work area, and access. I have stacked units of washer/dryer due to space restrictions and had to ask my son-in-law to help me lift the dryer of the washer once I had prepared the process by fabricating 2 pieces of 3/4" plywood to turn the dryer and then slide it out far enough were 2 people can lift it and then set it on some cribbing for easy handling. After watching the video carefully and taking notes for step-by-step dismantling of the LG washer, I took it apart methodically placing each item on a table in the order removed. I was able to remove and replace the bearings with no problems following the tips and tricks. The spider did not seem to be in bad shape but since I had a new one, it seemed reasonable to replace it as well, but it was difficult to extract the old one from the drum. I sat an watched a wash cycle. When it came to drain cycle I could hear the pump making a grinding noise! Door bellow seal leaked too. I ordered new pump and housing,new door bellows seal. The clearance of the pump impeller and housing are real important. I have jet Skies and I knew it is an issue. Watched the video on the repair. Gave me all the instructions to take it apart. Removed back cover removed stator and checked bearings. bearings were good.removed top control paneland front.then removed tub .seperated tub removed drum.the spyder was coroded into replaced spyder bearings and seal. reassembled washer.works like a champion. Read more

I ordered a tub seal to fix a gasket that let go in our LG LDS4821BB. Once I tore it apart to get the gasket out (little trouble) I also found what has made this DW stink for the last year. I needed to also replace the filter unit in the bottom of the tub and clean the heater area. I ordered the filter the same day I got the gasket. Both arrived WITHIN 48hrs of my order. Wow!! The upper counter-balance weight mount design is a poor design to begin with. It started to rattle loose approximately 5yrs into the 8yrs that we've owned it.
