The Motor Rotor is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool washing machines. Situated within the transmission housing, this specialized metal component physically connects the drive motor to the outer brake housing that controls the drive shaft and wash basket movements during all cycles.
Causes of failure involve the wearing of motor bearings or cracking of cast magnesium surfaces from repeated rotations over extended usage periods.
Symptoms requiring replacement include:
- Vibration or shaking noises heard from inside cabinetry
- Cycles displaying mechanical faults or not advancing properly
- Grinding sounds impeding smooth motor operations
- Drive failure troubles identified through diagnostic codes
This Whirlpool replacement is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, and select other brands utilizing common Whirlpool motor designs.
