I took the machine screws out of the outer panel for the right side only. Then pull the panel back a bit to release the lips from the front of the machine and had immediate access to the internal assembly that housed mounting nut. Start by removing the frame on the sides and bottom of the door. (Do not unscrew the corner screw holding the side frame and bottom together.) First, I took the whole thing apart and cleaned every spot...the main culprit seemed to be the float. It was pretty gunked up and seemed to be not working...after a good cleaning it was fine...but once I pulled the unit out and checked underneath I noticed the heating element was loose, leaking, and had burnt off the blade connecting ire. It was easy to find the part on appliance parts pros. Once I found it I studied the diagram and determined that there were 3 screws in the drum that needed to be removed. I disconnected power and then removed 3 interior screws. Once I did that I removed the back cover and removed the single screw on the bottom side of the air duct that held it in place connected to the heat tube. I then reversed disassembly. Replacing the trim takes a little bit of alignment and light force. The trim slides over the glass panel of the door, with the glass sliding into plastic tabs. We kept the door nearly vertical (almost closed), lined up the tabs on the trim with the glass door, and used mild force to slide the trim down onto the glass door. Walk into the kitchen on 21 Sep. Eight year old Frigidaire refrigerator appears to be short cycling, controls are nonfunctional. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it back in, appears to return to normal function. Return to kitchen half hour 45 minutes later it's short cycling again.
