Remove the 4 top star-head screws on the back side of door and loosen the next 2 lower screws on both sides of door about half way (loosening lower screws allows for easier access when installing new control panel) 2.) Removed the surrounding bezel, unplugged the bad part and plugged in the new one. One consideration, the plug is a little tricky, press each side of the plug, pull outward 1/8 " the old wiring should then slip out. Reverse procedure to install. Read more

My 15 year old son and I examined the new parts and made a plan for how we were going to take the front off of the oven. Turns out it was fairly simple. We removed the knobs, the knob shrouds, two philip screws on the side of the head and about 6, 6mm hex sheet screws. Voila! It came apart. Opened up door panel, unplugged ribbon cable from old keypad and plugged in new keypad without installing just to verify keypad was the problem. Start button on new keypad worked so I then removed old keypad which is basically just like peeling off a sticker. Next step was to remove leftover adhesive using solvent. We replaced the thermal fuse as recommended by Appliance Parts Pros as 59% the problem and since it was only a $20 part we decided it was worth changing. We also replaced the touch pad /control panel for $160 (not the entire control component). We also discovered once the dishwasher was apart that the door latch was broken. We removed six screws, unplugged two sets of wires. With the new control panel we plugged in the two wires, put the cover back on and screwed the six screws back in. Simple, just an extra hand to hold in place is all you need. Read more

Replaced thermostat as a precaution; replaced control board, replaced overlay. The new overlay was important, because the old one did not come off the old board completely. I ordered the control panel from Appliance Parts Pros and installed it. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to unhook the 2 strips on the inside from the oven. All you need to do is lift up the back side of the clips and the strips will come right out. Install the new strips in the clips and then push down. Very simple if you are familiar with this type of connection. Read more

After doing some research online, I saw that to have an appliance repair person come out to fix the touchpad, would cost us well over $500. Some people said they would charge $500 for the part alone.
