Given that I had 14 house guests for a week, I tried calling a Maytag repair man to expedite the fix - unfortunately, he didn't have the part, but did identify the problem as a bad control panel. Maytag Dishwasher (about 5 years old). Some of the buttons had stopped functioning. Then the Start button began choosing whether or not to work. Eventually it would not start at all. I looked up online what that meant and found the answer here on APpliancePartsPros. Not only did I find the answer, I found out I could fix it myself, so instead of replacing a $380 microwave oven I just fixed it. I ode red the part number DE94-01647A and looked on their site for instructions to install it. It only took me 20 minutes to complete the project. Ordered a new control panel and installed it; The repair is super easy and it would not take more than 10 minutes were I to do it again but because I had never done anything like this before I got stuck at one point and it took me a lot longer. I could not figure out how to get the electrical box off the old control panel - it was just a matter of bending the middle part of the plastic clips but I had not seen that kind of clip before and it was not immediately evident. Googled constant beeping, not starting and was directed to the keypad controller. Ordered it, it was delivered next day. Removed the screws on the door, lifted the old keypad off with a knife since it is just glued on. Cleaned the old glue off with acetone and laid the new strip on. Could not have been easier. Removed 6 screws, pried off the board/cable protector, then removed the lock and logic board off the old control panel. The tricky part is removing the ribbon cable and not bending the prongs on the logic board. Reversed the steps to install the new control panel purchased from you guys,. 1) Unscrewed the metal pieces behind the switch panel. You'll notice 3 screws. Afterwards, I realized that I just needed to remove the screws to the left and right of the switch box. The box then slides out.
