Replaced clutch assembly, gearcase input shaft seal and motor coupler. When I disassembled the washer I realized the shaft seal on the top of the gearcase was leaking and not the input shaft seal. So had to order more parts before I could finish this job. Altogether I replaced agitator dogs, both seals on the gearcase, the clutch assembly and the motor coupler. Upon removal of the lower inspection panel on the front of the machine, my 20 year old son thought the motor was bad by the smell. But he did discover what turned out to be the belt tensioner pulley laying inside the machine. After he pronounced it dead, without a thought to the idler pulley, I looked at the machine and determined the lack of movement was due to the idler pulley having "fallen" off the shaft by looking at the illustrated parts break down provided on this website. • Will not stop filling with water

This error code indicated faulty water level and wash cycles were exhibiting either no water or too much water. Saw utube vid using this part for this type of problem and so far the repair is working well. Part arrived in 2 days, it was the right part and the machine is working the way its supposed to so I'm very happy. The worst scenario would have been to hire a repair guy to rip me off for a "Johnson Rod" I didn't need. Read more

After researching the problem on this site, I realized that the most likely cause was a bad bearing contained in the shaft & tube assembly. Essentially, the tub seal failed & allowed water to travel down the shaft & into the housing containing the bearing. I confirmed this by pulling the front cover off of the unit & noticed some brown water pooled directly under the shaft & tube assembly. Replaced all three dampers and then replaced locking gaskets for the top spring mounts for the drum, replaced the old feet pads I had and works like a charm! Read more

• Will not fill with water

The GE front loading HE washer wound paused at the rinse fill point and need manual selection of drain & spin to finish the load. Online searches told me how to get the error code. Once E22 was found online searching told me it was a water flow problem- slow fill. I removed the hoses at the washer and inspected for clogs - nothing was found. I searched online and found Appliance Parts Pros to have the best price and an instructional video on how to replace this part. I've never done any type of repairs on a washing machine and figured I would give it a try. Watched the video a few times for door boot seal replacement. It was a lot of help! The spring is the hardest to replace and I did enlist the help of my wife. Everything went back on great. If you have to replace the front panel (with the buttons) be mindful that the buttons are spring loaded and will come out. I did not lose any and it went back together just fine. I discovered the drain hose was defective and leaking at the elbow. I ordered a new drain hose from appliance parts pros and fixed the problem in literally 15 minutes. The part was less than $25 and it saved me time and frustration having to deal with LG and a repair tech. Also, I saw that most of the parts were very cheap and I realized it didn't warrant me purchasing an extended warranty when I could buy the parts and fix problems myself for less. Read more
