• Not drying dishes properly

My Whirlpool dishwasher (wdf520padm3) started leaving food on dishes and not drying dishes as well as it used to, even when I ran the 'high temp' and 'heavy' cleaning options. After researching on the APP site, I decided what I thought I would need and purchased a new Gasket, Gasket Insert, Left & Right Corner Baffles from APP. The parts were shipped immediately. However, I’m an 80 yr. old female so I procrastinated for almost 6 weeks before deciding to 'tackle' the repair myself rather than hiring an appliance repair person or "handyman". I read a few of your reviews and found that a, "Phase Control Board" may be the problem. It was! Talk about easy to install... It was super easy! Removed the lower rack, removed the lower wash arm, removed the lower coarse filter, removed fine filter ( still no tools require to this point). Removed two 1/4" head screws with nut driver to then remove float switch, unplugged float switch, plugged in new switch, reinstalled filter, etc. This is a 5 minut job! Read more

We replaced the black door seal gasket around the front of the dishwasher. The old black seal gasket had begun to deteriorate, every time it was touched black stuff would rub off onto hands and onto utensils in the upper basket. We wore some disposable gloves to remove the old seal to avoid getting the black stuff on our hands. Remove upper and lower baskets for access. Remove 4 Torx screws holding drain/filter assembly, accessing last screw by rotating the water duct clockwise. Be sure to first un-clip the water duct at top and rear of dishwasher so that it can be moved. (Take the opportunity to remove accumulated deposits behind the water duct). I bumped into my KitchenAid dishwasher and the upper rack adjuster cracked. There was already a crack on the notch of the housing where the handle (lever) sits. In addition, the positioner popped out and I couldn't find it. So, I bought the three parts from AppliancePartsPros online. It arrived in about a week. • Will not fill with water

Ordered numerous replacement parts. Started with the tracks which required pulling the washer out of the cabinet to reach the screws. Pushed it back in and re-secured. Then stared on the rack and replaced the rack adjusters and various clips. Everything is straight forward and easy to replace. I originally called a local repair place to have them repair it. They came out and said they needed to order parts and they would call back. A week went by and I followed up with them. Had to leave... Read more

I viewed youtube videos and followed the instructions on how to determine the cause of the problem. I cleared the lines and poked my fingers in to check for obstructions. But in the end, the drain pump was the problem. The pump came in the mail the next day. The job required the pump and only one of the hose clamps as the original setup has one single ear clamp which can be removed with wire cutters and a standard one which I re-used.
