Overall the fix wasn't too hard. The challenge was putting the oven door back together and holding it together while trying to tighten the screws. Enlisted my wife's help to hold the door and at first the handle screws wouldn't tighten. My cordless screwdriver's battery was under-charged. Once I switched batteries I was able to tighten the screws. Seemed like I needed to push too hard (my wife freaked "not so hard you will strip them!") however pushing hard was what was needed. • Door latch failure

Had to remove the screws that hold the dish washer to the counter top by knocking them out of the counter top. After seeing how the door handle worked I will not have to do again as all you have to do to open is stick a long screw driver up inside and push the chip and it opens. Ordered handle installed it now everything works fine. $29.00 for little plastic handle seems quiet rediculous but Kitchenaid and parts direct where $39.00 so I guess I got a bargain. Just screwed on the new handle. The new handle did not come with threaded holes, but this was OK because the screws that came with the stove were self tapping. This takes a bit more effort and the proper screwdriver, but creates the threads in the handle as you turn the screw. Kudos to A-P Pros for the quick processing and delivery of the order. Read more
