Little procrastination paid off. With only 50% capability I knew it is time to call the appliancepartspros. They shipped me parts within 3 days. It was practical to fix both at the time. All I needed was to disconnect power at range breaker box, grab a screwdriver to lift top open, a 16 inch or so piece of old 2×4 wood to keep the top top of stove lifted, so I could access heating elements from underneath. Cut off power ,inside I remove the two back screws, remove the two front screws with hangers. Pull element out, clip wires so they don't fall back in holes with clothes pins. worked good. But wire connection to the broiler was to large, had to replace connectors, wire fell in hole, had to pull wall oven out and remove back panel. I then mounted the new element to oven. Replaced connectors ,connected connectors, closed back panel, put oven in place ,connected power lines. Turned power on. Works... Read more

I ordered a broiler element, watched the video and replaced the element when it arrived. I turned off the electrical breaker to the stove/oven. I then removed the oven door from the hinges and removed the 1/4" square head screws that secured the element in place,( the video showed phillip head screws ), removed the element wires from the old element. Replaced the element wires to the new element and reattached the element to the oven with the hex head screws. I then put the oven door back on... Read more

I first tried to purchase the part directly from GE but they were not helpful at all. Remembering that I had purchased a transmission and other parts from appliance parts pros for my old Maytag washer before, I searched their easy-to-use parts catalog and there it was!!!! I asked for confirmation from Customer Service and after 2 says Research confirmed that it was the correct part. Following the instructions that I received through the helpful research of the APP staff, I disconnected the power, disassembled the back of the oven, and accessed the hidden element. This involved bending parts of the sheet metal and cutting the insulation, so I was very apprehensive about doing this. Once I exposed the compartment that contains the element, I had difficulty extracting the old part and was really nervous about pulling hard to extract it - until I saw the damaged element. It...
