18 year old Maytag Atlantis top load washer had a load knocking and rattle sound with excessive vibration when the tub was spinning, but not when it was agitating. They was no water leaking. I read through the issues related to my problems. I purchased both parts so if one was fixed then the other still needed to be fixed I would have the part. I watched both videos for replacing the parts which made things so much easier. I will say prying in the front clips was the biggest issue out of the whole repair. After tracing the water dripping back up through the inside of the washer I found the water dispenser inlet valve was leaking. I watched several videos to make sure I understood what was involved. I contacted a local parts company to get the part. I also searched online for the part. I found that AppliancePartsPros.com had it cheaper. This should be plastered all over the place and every owner of a front end washer should be advised or a recall should be issued about this. As I opened the top of my washer to fix a F35 error by replacing the water level switch, which worked out great and it fixed the issue, I noticed a rusting spot at the bottom of the washer just under where the motor is placed. As a Mechanic, I did the common sense approach: INITIAL OBSERVATIONS & CHECKS: - Unplug Machine & check inlet water hose connections for leaks and signs of hose failure; - Remove back panel & inspect for water presence at all hose connections, pump, bottom of basket (bottom center of basket where the main motor, shaft bearing, and tub seal is located), dispensers, bottom of wash basket, water injector area, look everywhere where there is a hose connection and where water flows... - Inspect... Before buying a new ($1200) washer, I found the trouble shooting guide and decided to check if my problem was a simple fix or a complicated procedure... turns out it was the simple fix. Removing the agitator was the hardest part, it lifted straight up, but took some muscle and a belt for leverage. Then I had to remove one bolt, lift off the damaged part, and put the new part on with the one bolt. Done. Works perfectly. Read more

Ordered the springs and shocks. Noticed that the washer had placement for 4 springs, but the factory only installs 2 (or they forgot to install the other two on my machine). If you replace the springs, be sure to check for the spring bracket mount. You will also need those. The washer is running fine. Next I'll work on the dryer. Read more

Ordered and replaced bellow. It is important to supply the correct model number as my machine is a later model than the one used in the training video. The front panel is one piece, rather than two. Additionally, several of the fasteners were hex head screws, rather than torks. The Bellow is somewhat different having an opening for the light fixture. • Leaking

Fixed by replacing the washer door seal "Bellows". Once again AppliancePartsPros comes through with the right part at a great price. It took quite some time to install because putting the inside spring back on the bellow was difficult so I needed to remove the top and front door of the washer to get better access.
