GE Top Loading Washer, slow drip leak from top of tub when off; ordered triple water valve. Removed 3 hex screws behind top control panel (in back); removed 2 rear hex screws on back of control panel. Removed hoses and plug. As you move panel forward, its lower tabs slide sideways in order to remove/roll panel forward. Unplug hot and cold wire harness leads. Unscrew 2 Phillips head screws. I opened the washer and replaced the pump. To open the washer: 1. Remove the 2 screws that are different from the others in the top back corners of the machine. That will let you remove the top. 2. Remove the soap tray and its holder. The tray comes out if you depress the tab in the back center. Its holder comes out if you remove the two screws in the front. • Leaks water

Noticed large banging in the washing machine when transitioning from low to high speed spin. Also would get a slight smell of burnt rubber. Did an online search and best guess was the spider arm assy was broken. Ordered the spider arm assy, the rear tub seal and the tub seal. Make sure you get blue threadlocker - you'll use it multiple times during the reassembly. The washer is 9 years old and is heavily used. Cleaned off the oil or grease that somehow was all over the drive belt. Installed new drive belt. Installed 2 new left (blue) and 2 new right (red) rod and spring assembly. This fixed the out of balance issue during spin cycle. Read more

I read through the issues related to my problems. I purchased both parts so if one was fixed then the other still needed to be fixed I would have the part. I watched both videos for replacing the parts which made things so much easier. I will say prying in the front clips was the biggest issue out of the whole repair. I repaired the suspension issue by replacing the 4 rods. The very last rod that I replaced was indeed bent. I closed the top and ran one load and then the lid lock issues... Read more

The ridges inside the agitator base were stripped. Installed a new base - after a good cleaning of build-up on the spindle. Works like new! Read more

Ordered and replaced bellow. It is important to supply the correct model number as my machine is a later model than the one used in the training video. The front panel is one piece, rather than two. Additionally, several of the fasteners were hex head screws, rather than torks. The Bellow is somewhat different having an opening for the light fixture. This was the second attempt at fixing this problem. The first repair and parts were generated by listing the problem and reviewing the potential corrections, listed on the web site. From making repairs on other clothes washers, I was confident that some of those potential causes could have been the cause. I ordered the tub seal and stem seal kits along with the much needed spanner wrench. After viewing the video online several times and taking notes along the way I was ready to tackle the repair. After taking everything apart, I cleaned all areas thoroughly then addressed the rusty areas and mineral deposits found in the tub. I removed the belt and found with no load the motor ran but made a grinding noise. I purchased a new motor and installed it. The fix was easy and quick. Read more

The repair was fairly straight foward as shown in the video. However, driving the shaft from the bearings took some doing. It required replacing the use of the board with a spare bolt and a 2lb hand sledge. (having an air hammer as reserve, also not a bad idea) I rated this reair as a "1" however I've been an auto mechanic for 40 years. If you do not have good general mechanical ablities you may find this more challenging as you get it further apart. I suggest anyone making this repair should... Read more
