I just wanted to put my experience here for all to see. I have a Maytag Neptune, MAH5500BWW, one of the original ones. I bought it back in 2002 and it has done many many loads of wash faithfully. This was a fairly easy fix. The only problem I had was that the cover over the retaining nut was difficult to pull off. I changed to a larger pair of pliers and put a little more muscle to it and it popped right out. There was a little corrosion on the shaft that needed to scraped off for the new agitator to slide on easily but after that was gone the new part slid on and with some downward pressure it seated in. I replaced the dispenser assembly and since this was being replaced, I installed a new drawer and detergent box assembly. Read more

In the past we’ve fixed the latch with just high speed great. This time we ordered a new latch and replaced it. Washing machine has been working perfectly ever since. It was very easy to find the right part by simply entering the model number of my washing machine. It was quick delivery and the correct part. Very happy to have a working washing machine again. Replaced both hot and cold water inlet valves. Works like a charm, issue resolved. Read more

• Door latch failure

I removed the wire and rubber seal in order to get to the door lacth then I unscrewed the three screws popped out the latch put the screws and the rubber and wire back and tested the washer. The door now locks and I can wash again...YEPPPPY Read more

Removed old bellow following procedures found on relevant Youtube videos. Reinstalling however was more of a challenge. Getting the rear seal of the new bellow on the washer housing was not as easy as the videos indicated. The key to that process is being sure the seal is well lubricated which is not quite apparent from the videos but is essential success.
