I replaced the hose between the tub and the pump. The clamp screws were quite rusted but I used a socket wrench on them since they have hex heads in addition to the screwdriver slot. If I had tried to use a screwdriver, I think it would have been difficult. I did not reuse the original clamps but replaced them with hardware store hose clamps. Read more

The upper counter-balance weight mount design is a poor design to begin with. It started to rattle loose approximately 5yrs into the 8yrs that we've owned it. I noticed a lot of water on the floor one day. I had no idea where it came from (all pipes in the area near the stationary tub were dry, there was a small wet spot near the washer, but most of the water was more than 2ft from it). Started a small load and noticed water running down the outside of the unit. Immediately stopped the cycle and removed the front of the washer. Replace the drain pump after watching a video demonstrating the process. The washing machine had run properly and emptied, so I was surprised how much water remained in the pipe after disconnecting the old pump. Plan on having 2-3 large towels underneath before removing it. The most difficult part (and most irritating) was replacing the intake and outtake hoses with the existing spring clamps. I removed the dial knob and plate as instructed by the video, removed the front panel of the washer to access the switch. I found the plastic molded bracket that the timer rests on to be broken and the tab on the timer where it is attached by a screw to be broken. I ordered a replacement switch, dial and knob. When it arrived I replaced the parts as instructed, but I had to use super glue to hold the new switch in place due to the support tab on the washer panel being broken off. After letting...
