Washer Valve

I unplugged the machine. I removed the two fill hoses. I removed the top of the washer case by removing 3 tamper proof screws from the back ( I used my set of "star" head drivers), sliding the top back 1 inch and lifting the top off. I marked the 4 wires with 1 thru 4 stripes with a marker for ID, then pulled the 4 wires off the landing terminals. After trying several things, I ordered the pressure sensor and water valve as they seem like likely culprits of the problem. I first changed the pressure sensor and the washer worked fine for three loads sat overnight and then e11 the next morning. I changed the water valve that day and the washer seems to be working fine now. This is on Electrolux front load washer. GE Top Loading Washer, slow drip leak from top of tub when off; ordered triple water valve. Removed 3 hex screws behind top control panel (in back); removed 2 rear hex screws on back of control panel. Removed hoses and plug. As you move panel forward, its lower tabs slide sideways in order to remove/roll panel forward. Unplug hot and cold wire harness leads. Unscrew 2 Phillips head screws. I found a youtube video about replacing the hot water valve in a Samsung washer. It looked pretty easy. After tracing the water dripping back up through the inside of the washer I found the water dispenser inlet valve was leaking. I watched several videos to make sure I understood what was involved. I contacted a local parts company to get the part. I also searched online for the part. I found that AppliancePartsPros.com had it cheaper. This should be plastered all over the place and every owner of a front end washer should be advised or a recall should be issued about this. As I opened the top of my washer to fix a F35 error by replacing the water level switch, which worked out great and it fixed the issue, I noticed a rusting spot at the bottom of the washer just under where the motor is placed. I replaced both the solenoid (part of the inlet valve kit) and the pressure sensor. Online research suggested my intermittent issue with the cold water fill being just a trickle and then causing an error was likely due to one or both of those two parts failing. Since they are in the same spot it was suggested (and I agree) that it is best to replace both at the same time. Ordered water inlet valve. Two screws to take out. Disconnect the hose. Disconnect the two wires. Put in the new valve. Reverse the procedure. Whole thing took about 10 minutes. Read more

It was really easy to fix. I just took a screw driver and gently pried up on the top of the clothes washer to open up the top. Then the mixing valve was easy to access. I removed the two screws holding and unplugged the the wires. And pulled the old one free. Then reversed the process to install the old one. Less than thirty minutes start to finish. Read more

As a Mechanic, I did the common sense approach: INITIAL OBSERVATIONS & CHECKS: - Unplug Machine & check inlet water hose connections for leaks and signs of hose failure; - Remove back panel & inspect for water presence at all hose connections, pump, bottom of basket (bottom center of basket where the main motor, shaft bearing, and tub seal is located), dispensers, bottom of wash basket, water injector area, look everywhere where there is a hose connection and where water flows... - Inspect... 1. Sleeve for input, Injector valve, nozzle and seal for input fixed this problem. Probably the main part that was the trouble was a deformed Injector Valve which is a rubber tube with an internal retention groove at the wide part that grips the Nozzle. The Sleeve and the Nozzle are hard plastic parts that basically looked fine, but I replaced them anyway while I was in there. The F20 code was low/no water pressure code. I watched a YouTube video and purchased a Water Inlet Valve from Appliance Pros. After my son installed the new part my washer still didn't work. I looked on Google for trouble shooting and the 1st thing it said was turn on both hot/cold water as the washer needs the pressure of the hot/cold water. I had turned off the hot valve because it was leaking. I assumed I could still do cold water loads. Read more
