Before removing the element I put the oven on bake to test the element and held my hand just above the element to feel for heat which there was none.... Read more
Replace a burned-out lower bake element when your oven won't heat, preheats slowly, or bakes unevenly. Simple DIY repair with basic tools in under an hour.
The repair was quite simple. Once the plate holding the element was off just unhook the wires and attach the new element. This part is the radiant heater intended for use on ranges. This part is also referred to as a surface element. It supplies the heat required to cook food. This particular radiant heater is the largest element on the cooktop. In the event that the burner is not heating up, this part may need to be replaced as there could be an element that is burned out. It may begin to heat up but won't get hot enough to cook correctly. The cook may also notice that the element does not cook evenly. There could also be physical signs of damage. Be sure to unplug the range prior to attempting to repair or replace this part. This particular radiant heater is compatible with appliances manufactured by the LG brand. It is sold individually.
