Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Clunking and grinding from the drive   Scott R. • Onondaga , MI • August 14, 2015

Replaced the shaft & mode shifter assembly. Also replaced the pulley as it had taken some damage from the wobbling clutch dog. And replaced the tub seal since it's normally inaccessible with the shaft in place. This is an advanced repair that took a lot of time. Removing the tub nut took a 1 11/16" socket and a 700 ft-lb impact wrench and I had to hammer on the nut for several minutes to break it free of the tub. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer belt and belt pathway, felt-drum-seal and felt-bearing surfaces needed a thorough cleaning.   Brian L. • Kailua-Kona , HI • March 15, 2014

The new roller support wheels helped quite the dryer. The other contributing factor was the outer door frame 'felt bearing' and the rear drum ‘felt-seal’ had a lot of dust, dirt. lint and other contaminants in the fibers. It was vacuumed clean and now the drum turns much easier. In addition, I cleaned the belt and belt-pathway and lubricated the Rollers. Some say not to lube the wheels, but it helped a lot. It doesn't squeal any more. Thank you for the parts! Brian. Read more
