General Electric Cable Or Retainer

Keep the appliance power cord secured and positioned to prevent strain or accidental disconnection. This retainer fastens the cord to the cabinet so the cord stays in place during normal use and service. What it does:

• Secures the power cord to the appliance cabinet or terminal block to prevent tugging or pull stress.
• Helps maintain a stable electrical connection by limiting cord movement.
• Reduces risk of the cord rubbing against sharp edges or being pinched.
• Common symptom: loose or wiggling power cord at rear of appliance.

• Disconnect power before accessing the cord or terminal area to avoid shock hazard.
• Typically installs with screws or snaps into a bracket near the cord entry; check the cabinet opening for correct orientation.
• Inspect surrounding wiring and strain relief; replace any damaged insulation or hardware when present.
