Replaced plastic housing for $100. Recommend buying the whole assembly though. Cost a bit more but you would be done in 15min. When you just replace the housing, you have to disassemble the old one very carefully to reuse several parts that do not come with the housing. A lot of fragile plastics. I ordered parts at 3:30 in the afternoon and they showed up the next morning from half way across the country. Outstanding service. It also fixed the 9 year old refrigerator. Unplug refrigerator. Use non marring (plastic trim stick) tool to gently pry loose the plastic assembly containing the PCB display beginning at the lower edge and proceeding around the outer edge. Ordered new tube part AJR56656503 for Lg LFX25978ST/01 watched a lot of videos but none showed how to remove the door tube end from its connection so I just cut and spliced the new tube to the old under the cover for the door hinge area after feeding it from the back of frig to that area. First determined drain discharge hose was clear. Turned of power to dishwasher. I did not find it necessary to remove the dishwasher. I simply removed the lower service panel at the floor and was able to easily remove the defective pump, unplug it, replace the small rubber check valve flapper before the pump inlet and reinstall the new pump assembly. I ordered a new vario motor and a soap dispenser. I turned off the water and the breaker, disconnected the water line and the power at the front base of the unit, disconnected the drain hose from the garbage dispenser, and pulled out the dishwasher and laid it on a blanket on its face. 1. Googled "appliance replacement parts" - found two sites to consider 2. Researched parts needed via a exploded diagram - can't fix it if you can't name it. 3. AppliancePartsPros.com had the easiest diagram and after checking, the lowest price. 4. Parts showed up within a couple of days - an in-transit note was helpful. 5. When Microwaving food, the display panel would seem to act normal, but the typical microwave sound would be absent. No microwave action would occur. Eventually an F5 code would display. Problem was the upper door switch. Found it by opening up the cabinet, removing the display panel (1 screw and a couple of plugs) and testing all three micro switched with a meter. I replaced the filter cartridge that is located underneath the lower spray arm. The original filter cartridge had become completely blinded off, the filter media is a very fine mesh nylon fabric and it gets clogged up eventually with hard water scale and other non-soluble materials (including dishwasher detergent). The right door seal and the freezer door seal are easily removed and replaced. They just pull out of the slot. These 2 new gaskets push in easily. The left door has the French Door Mullion, that blocks the removal of the door gasket. There are two screws in the middle that holds it on, and there is a spring at the bottom of the mullion that keeps the mullion in place. The spring can easily be removed, or left in place.
