Covers and protects the dispenser area on your refrigerator. Replace if cracked, broken, or scratched from repeated use and moisture exposure.
Very helpful video from a link on your website (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBIv0bxEhkE), and saved me a major repair bill. My journey started with an effort to replace just the water dispenser button, which failed because the fifth post on the back side of the button (not the four posts which hold the button in place--it's the extra rectangular piece visible near the repairman's pinkie finger at 3:04) had broken off, and it is this piece which reaches and moves the actuator for the water... Rubber ice dispenser door center seals the ice chute on your refrigerator. Replace if cracked, worn, missing, or not sealing properly to stop frost buildup.
I wasn't sure if it was the door being warped, the spring return being worn, or the rotary damper failing, so I ordered all to update the door mechanism. I also ordered a new micro switch since one of the switches had started to require more and more pressure to actuate. Figured I'd fix it at the same time. Repair was very straightforward and the videos available on this and other repair sites were very helpful. I found a video that showed replacing the door mechanism on a nearly identical... Read more
Dishwasher detergent cup won't stay closed or won't open fully? This soap dispenser lever controls detergent release. DIY repair in 15 minutes.
First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. After turning off the power to the dishwasher, I removed the switch cover (not obvious how -- a video would help: on the left, I slid the narrow rectangular plastic wire cover a little to one side and gently opened it on its little hinge, which is near the left side of the door, and then... Using your program, I loaded the info re my trusty old dishwasher (not ready to abandon over a cap) and you located the proper cap to replace my old one that has been lost for years. Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off.
