Unplug refrigerator. Use non marring (plastic trim stick) tool to gently pry loose the plastic assembly containing the PCB display beginning at the lower edge and proceeding around the outer edge. My refrigerator is 13 yrs old and began to build up frost in the ice cube shoot and the water tube began to freeze up over night. The flapper door was not closing completely. I simply removed the control panel by pulling up and out on the bottom edge, the edge is only about 1/8 inch thick, so don't reach in to far. I wasn't sure if it was the door being warped, the spring return being worn, or the rotary damper failing, so I ordered all to update the door mechanism. I ordered a new soap dispenser and began a new venture in repairing my dishwasher. I turned off the breaker that suppled power to the unit. I removed all the T-15 torx screws from the inside cover except one, which my wife helped me hold in. This prevents the cover from dropping off. Then, after removing those two, we closed the dishwasher cover, and lifted off the outside cover. That being off, I saw the two wires connecting the dishwasher dispenser solinoid. Removed them. First unplug or turn off the electrical breaker to the dishwasher. Then I removed the phillips head screws holding the inner door to the outer door panel. I then removed the hex head screws holding the dispenser assembly. The electrical connection needs to be disconnected and then reverse the procedure to install the new dispenser. Bought the replacement dispenser from APPros.com (of course). The video shows a front control panel, and our dishwasher has the 'hidden' control panel on the top of the door. So here's the difference: 1) You need to take out all the screws, except the two near the latch at the top. As a homeowner, I love that I can just type my model number into Appliance Parts Pros website and find a listing/diagram of the entire unit. So when my dispenser on my dishwasher broke, I just ordered a new one. I use You Tube to watch videos on the specific repair, and then VOILA! I do the repair myself, saving at least a hundred dollars in a repair persons service call charge! After watching the YouTube video provided by Appliancepartspros and checking various forums I determined the dispenser motor had gone out. Turns out, it was a two part problem. The connectors to the motor, and the motor had corroded. Cleaned them both with vinegar. The old motor did a load before I started having problems with the CCU. I didn't learn about the CCU needing a reset under the quick diagnostics until after replacing the motor and the new part doing the same thing. Both the new... Read more

Ordered the entire control panel. Took only 30 minutes to replace. Once I received the new part, it was obvious how easy it would be to replace. A thin putty knife and a little care not to damage the surrounding surface was all that was needed. Read more

I replaced the part by popping off the plastic frame and removing several easily-accessable screws. Three small electrical plugs had to be popped off too. It was a very simple repair. The Sears guy wanted $395 total for the repair, and I did it myself for the price of the part on this site (around $90). Very pleased! Read more
