Part Number: WPW10545291

This thermal fuse is a safety device designed to cut power to the oven if internal temperatures exceed a safe limit, preventing overheating and potential fire hazards. It is a one-time-use component that cannot be reset once it has tripped. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Open thermal fuse on whirlpool wall double oven   Lon F. • Jacksonville , FL • May 23, 2015

Replaced fuse. It took much longer to get the oven out of the wall to access the fuse and replace the front panel than to do the repair. This fuse failed at the end of the cleaning cycle for the bottom oven and left the door locked because the open fuse removed the 120v power from the control board. The locked door made it impossible to remove one of the screws holding the wall oven in place. However, after I ground off the head of the screw behind the edge of the locked door I was able to... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You No heat in gas dryer   Peter S. • Glenview , IL • April 23, 2024

Realizing that there could be multiple reasons for a gas dryer failing to heat, I decided to test everything I could. The very detailed and product specific video showed me how to disassemble the dryer. The thermostat, cycling thermostat, high limit, flame detector, igniter, gas valve coils and timer all showed correct continuity or resistance. I thought it might be the gas valve itself, but felt that wasn't likely so I decided to go ahead and replace the thermostats and limit switch since... Read more

High Limit Thermostat
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WE4M80

This replacement part is a high-limit thermostat, and it is intended for use in different types of appliances. This is a genuine replacement part made by General Electric. This high-limit thermostat is typically found in dryers and controls the heat inside the drying tub. This is especially important as different dryer settings require different amounts of heat. If the high limit thermostat works properly, the temperature inside the tub should reach the correct amount during each drying cycle with no issues. A new high-limit thermostat might be needed if the user notices that the dryer is unable to reach the appropriate level of heat for a certain drying cycle. This is also true if the dryer is becoming too hot when the heat is supposed to be set to low. Make sure the dryer is cooled down prior to replacing this part as the areas in the back of the dryer can become very hot during use. Be sure to reference the specific user manual for more instructions on how to replace the thermostat. This thermostat is sold individually and is a genuine OEM part. The thermostat is sourced directly from the manufacturer.
