Fuse Or Sensor

Removed the heater of course and installed the part. Very easy to do no need to remove the drum, just top cover, control panel, and front door assembly. Remove the one screw holding heater, remove blue wire, turn heater CCW to the 8 o'clock poisiton. Install in the reverse order. This is the secound one in a month if it fails again i'll just bypass it and install a 25 AMP fuse. Read more

Replaced fuse. It took much longer to get the oven out of the wall to access the fuse and replace the front panel than to do the repair. This fuse failed at the end of the cleaning cycle for the bottom oven and left the door locked because the open fuse removed the 120v power from the control board. Tried to turn the microwave on, checked the outlet for power, check the breaker to see if it was tripped, all was in order. Removed the over the range microwave and pull the covers, Tested continuity with a multimeter for each of the 4 normally closed thermostats, found 2 bad (open). The upper 110 and the lower right 70. Removed exterior panels, cleaned all venting, replaced outlet thermistor and thermostat. Pressure washed all removable parts. Reassembled. Now working as it should. Read more

This is for the Whirlpool in-wall double oven GBD307PDS10. No power and the door locked after the shutdown before the self-cleaning cycle was over. I removed the front panel and observed the heating element while running the dryer. It was cycling off every minute or so and staying off for several minutes. Even though it was likely the high temp cycling thermostat I replaced both the 14, and 15 cycling thermostats which I think are the original factory units. That makes them nearly 35 years old. Went to Appliance Pros and found the part for my microwave. Web site was very easy to use. Ordered the thermal fuse and it was delivered in 2 days. Shipping was a a bit expensive, but can't complain with two day delivery. Replaced the failed part and the microwave now works great. It 1 1/2 hours, but I took my time. Needed one helper to remove the top screws. Handy-wife did it without a problem. Read more

• Shuts off too soon

Replaced heating element about three months ago. Had to order thermistor because of error code "ts" on display and dryer would not run. Removed the two screws on the back that holds the top in place. After removing the top, remove the screws that hold the control panel on front. Make sure not to break the tabs that help hold it in place You do not have to unplug any connectors for the control panel. • Timer will not advance

I went ahead and ordered the element, and the 2 different thermostats not knowing exactly which one might be the problem. My My Maytag opens from the front and it was actually pretty easy to get into. Also gave me the opportunity to vacuum out the inside of the dryer.
