This ceramic insulator positions and isolates the cooktop or range burner electrode, helping ensure safe spark ignition and preventing electrical shorts. It's a small but critical part for reliable ignition performance. What it does:

• Centers and supports the igniter/electrode so sparks reliably reach the burner
• Electrically isolates the electrode to prevent arcing to the cooktop/frame
• Helps maintain consistent ignition and flamestart behavior
• A cracked or damaged insulator can cause intermittent lighting, arcing, or failure to ignite

• Disconnect power (and gas, if applicable) before attempting replacement
