• Burning smell
• Will not agitate
• Pumps but will not spin

I pulled the unit away from the wall and noticed black dust on the floor. Unplugged the unit, turned off the water. Removed back panel (about 10 screws with Torx heads) and noticed the belt was off, the drive pulley was loose and wobbling on the shaft, black dust all over the inside. Belt was worn along one side. This repair was performed on a Whirlpool Cabrio clothes washer Model # WTW5640XW0 which has the digital electronic controls rather than the older style timer, electro/mechanical controls. This washer was made in 2010. Simply having the diagnostic programs on this machine is wonderful and they work remarkably well and led me to the shifter/rpm sensor component straight away. I started with the suspension pad kit and the tub suspension pads. I do have to say if you have an older model washer (mine is approx 17 years old) be prepared to let the inner tub sit in penetrating oil for a few days before attempting to take the tub out. I was able to get to this point on my own and then it wouldn't budge. My husband ended up buying some direct drive tool (it was pretty cool) and was able to break the tub free after two days. Yay! The LG Model LG Washer model WM2487HRMA ISSUE: Washing Machine was filling very slowly. Overnight it would fill about 1 or 2 gallons. I would clear the tub by pushing a) Power b) set spin to None c) push Start. That would empty the tub. REPAIR SOLUTION: That did not solve the problem. I asked them to give me the part numbers...at which point he said..."you won't find them"! I had previously replaced the pump about 1 year ago. That was not the problem. Still leaked the same way - intermittently, but always in the center of the washer onto the floor. None of the hoses were leaking - no evidence of corrosion or water mineral residue at any of the hose fittings. So, it must have been something else. I removed the top cover and found the left main suspension spring broken. Appliance Part Pros had the new springs (2 I replaced both) at my door in 26 hours. Excellent service from this company. After disassembling the drum from the chassis of the machine, it was very easy to replace the springs. i do wish however that I had purchased a higher quality machine.
