We took out all of the parts and wiped them down to remove all of the old grease. The parts were reassembled with the new worm follower gear and added new grease. We had a problem because the new worm follower gear didn't slide down all the way easily, so we had to use a rubber mallet to get it all the way down the planetary shaft. Read more

In order it SHOULD be done: Pried off two white caps covering the screws that attach the flap to the left door, then removed screws. Lifted flap up to remove from door and disconnected cable. Used a thin blade to pry out the inner cover of the flap, then carefully pried out the insulation piece inside. Loosened the screw holding the center cap from the inside and removed cap. Common theme on the blogs was thermistors and or defrost heater/thermostat. Ran self-diagnostics which turned on defrost heater which was fine. Was able to diagnose problem at AppliancePartsPros.com by entering the model #. This is apparently a common problem with this Refrigerator Replaced Light Socket Assembly, Lamp Reflector, Lamp Case and Lamp Cover. Also replaced the main circuit board (not sure if this was necessary). The wiring on the Light Socket Assembly was different than the original, so it was a bit confusing how to assemble it, and no screws were provided to attach it to the Lamp Reflector - figuring this out took most... I drilled old lock out and installed new lock box. This was the info your Tech had given me and as always your Techs are on top of all situations. This took about 15 minutes and it's back collecting money. Thanks for such quick and reliable service.
