Simple replacement of the heating element. Found multiple videos on youtube that show how to to do this repair. The cooktop is easily opened by removing 3 screws, but I recommend having a second set of hands when performing the repair because you will have to hold up the glass stove top and unscrew the components. Turned off the oven power at the breaker box. Removed the (2) 1/4" screws holding the front support bracket and removed the front support bracket. Whirlpool convection oven. Access to convection element from inside. Three screws to remove plate covering fan blade. Then one screw to remove element bracket. We had ordered and installed the drip pans and when we took a look, we knew we needed new elements. Those were perfect; exact replacement. Simple fix. Our oven is a GE dual fuel (gas burners on top, electric elements inside) model # J2S968SOH4SS. The lower element hidden underneath the bottom drip cover stopped heating. I had to remove the front door of the oven which is also easy to remove in order to slide out the lower drip cover. Instructions to do this are in the owners manual.
