This part is the radiant heater intended for use on ranges. This part is also referred to as a surface element. It supplies the heat required to cook food. This particular radiant heater is the largest element on the cooktop. In the event that the burner is not heating up, this part may need to be replaced as there could be an element that is burned out. It may begin to heat up but won't get hot enough to cook correctly. The cook may also notice that the element does not cook evenly. There could also be physical signs of damage. Be sure to unplug the range prior to attempting to repair or replace this part.This particular radiant heater is compatible with appliances manufactured by the LG brand. It is sold individually. I ordered a new burner and switch. Received all parts in only one day. Shut breaker, pulled out the range to work on it. Removed the front panel to replace the switch first which was the easy part of the job, only 6 screws. Installed new switch, turned on the breaker to test and found that the burner heated up proving that only the switch was bad.
