First, I took an ohm reading across the elements and determined the bad one, which was failed, open circuit. (Zero continuity) I then replaced the lower heating element of the upper oven. Although the design of the oven and element make it appear that it will just drop down and slide out the front, this is not quite the case. Turned off power supply. Removed two screws (near the oven door) holding the ceramic top. Slid the top forward, disengaged the two power supply cables, and removed one ground wire. Removed range top, and put on a flat surface. Unclamped two power supply wires, one ground wire and one thermocouple wire from the element. Unscrewed the bracket from the element, and remove the element from the range top. Remove the two clamps from the old element, and put them on the new element at the same... Read more

Unplugged range, removed back panel. Loosened plug block from range, unhooked wires from existing element, then sliced through insulation between element ends with sharp knife. Removed screws holding element ends then removed element. Inserted new element, screwed it in place, connected wires and replaced plug block. Vacuumed up fiberglass insulation dust and replaced back panel. Replaced plug then tested. Read more

I found a few videos on YouTube about other dryers that gave me enough information to figure out my own. I was able to pull out the heater element and replace it with a new one that arrived the day after I purchased it. I also replaced the thermal fuse and thermostat. Read more

The heating element contact ears and the terminal block contacts were burnt on the existing burner. I ordered the new terminal block kit and surface heating element from Appliance Parts Pros. Delivery was exceptionally fast (I just used regular shipping). The new terminal block kit came with very long wires, so I cut them and installed new terminal ends, rather than zip-tie the long wires together. Very happy with repair. Read more

I had the choice of spending $2K on another double oven stove or $60 on two elements. (I felt more secure about replacing both bake and broil elements just in case the fire had damaged the bake element) It was an easy decision and quick replacement!
