The upper counter-balance weight mount design is a poor design to begin with. It started to rattle loose approximately 5yrs into the 8yrs that we've owned it. I viewed the self help video on You Tube and checked the water pressure first. Once the water pressure was determined to be fine I ordered a new water inlet valve as recommended from the video. LG supplier did not have the recommended part and after checking on-line I found Appliance Parts Pros had just what I needed. This DC motor drives the evaporator fan that circulates cold air from the evaporator coils throughout the refrigerator and freezer compartments. This dryer drum belt wraps around the drum and pulleys to spin clothes. Replace if stretched, cracked, or broken to restore tumbling. Confirm fit by model.
I took the dryer apart. (You Tube video). The issue was a portion of the tension belt pulley wheel had broken off. The drum belt which wraps around the drum and the pulley would make the drum spin off balance, hence making the pounding noise. 1) I changed the belt because the dryer is 10+ years old & it had many cracks. 2) I changed the belt tensioner. 3) I changed the LED light. There is one hinge on top and one at the bottom, but it was none of these it ended up being this hinge that I ordered. One of the suspension rods was not working so I replaced the bad one and the other three . Tub has now leveled out and is spinning properly without making the noise.
