Removed the bottom rack from the dishwasher. Removed the 2 front plates at bottom of the dishwasher. Removed the two screws from the top of the dishwasher holding the dishwasher to the counter-top. Pulled the dishwasher out. Removed the 8 mm screws from the outside of the dishwasher-- 4 per side (Underneath the sound proofing). Replaced broken drum spider and shaft assembly (part # AP4449265). Burning rubber smell was caused by spinning drum touches door boot seal. Also replaced all 4 shock absorbers just as a precaution. Replacing tub seal may not be absolutely necessary but it's cheap and easy. be aware of those razor sharp metal frames. Read more

I shopped around a bit - found one retailer that only had 1 shock in stock, another that only stocked the front shocks, etc. There is definitely a difference in the springs between the green colored and white colored shocks! I've torn this washer down before, so I'm fairly familiar with how it's put together.
