1. Purchased a new Facade. The removal of the old one was relatively easy except that the two screws that hold it in place (behind the spill tray) were rusted (they should have used stainless steel ones) one came out with a vise grip but on the other I had to buy an "Easy Out" tool from Home Depot, once out the unit drops down. Had my wife hold the new unit, swiped the wires from old to new, removed the control board from the old one and installed it on the new one with one screw and cleaned... Read more

This is a relatively easy repair. Here are detailed instruction to replace the Control Panel. Tools Required: #15 and #20 Torx drivers. (Power tools not recommended) THE INNER SHELL DOES NOT HAVE TO BE COMPLETELY REMOVED There are 10 perimeter screws that secure the inner shell (#15) to the outer shell and six screws, three on each side (#20). Pretty easy job for a DIYer. The control panel gets loose when the plastic tabs break for one reason or the other. You can replace the control board housing without having to replace the control board. Note also that the control board housing comes with a new control overlay label, so you don't need to buy the label like I did. Ordered a new Faceplate Graphics, removed old faceplate and installed new. Required removing control panel with switches and display, including 10 screws to get to the faceplate. Faceplate has glue on rim, so had to peel off old faceplate, remove residue, then put on new. Not difficult, but reaching to remove the screws was a little challenging in a small kitchen. Replacing the switch membrane restored full function. Relatively easy. Had to pull stove out just a few inches to provide access to two side screws holding control enclosure. Then four screws on bottom edge just above oven door. Then a screw above each burner control. And one screw on the top edge at each corner (right screw additionally holding a ground wire).
